Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 September 2026

These terms apply when you order a package, request a custom project, or otherwise engage builds by A.D ("we", "us") for website design services. By placing an order or paying an invoice, you agree to these terms.

1. Our services

We design and build websites, offered either as fixed-price packages (shown with current pricing on our payment page) or as custom-quoted projects for larger or more specific needs. Optional ongoing maintenance is also available.

2. Pricing and payment

3. Cancellations and refunds

Because each project involves real time and work starting shortly after payment, our default policy is:

To request a cancellation or refund, contact us as soon as possible via the contact form or email.

This is a starting-point refund policy. Adjust the specifics (timeframes, percentages) here to match how you actually want to run cancellations, then keep this page updated to match.

4. Project process and timelines

Projects generally follow the process described on our homepage: discovery call, proposal & payment, design, build, and launch & handover. Timelines depend on project scope and how quickly you provide feedback and content — we'll give you a realistic estimate in your proposal, but delays on your end (late content, slow feedback) can extend the timeline.

5. Content and information you provide

You're responsible for providing accurate information and any content (text, images, logos) needed for your project, and for making sure you have the rights to use anything you send us. We're not liable for issues arising from content you provide.

6. Domains and hosting

Where we help set up a domain or hosting account on your behalf, these remain your property — registered in your name, with your own login access. We don't retain ownership or control of your domain or hosting account after handover.

7. Ownership of the finished website

Once a project is paid in full and delivered, you own the final website we build for you. Unless you ask us not to, we may showcase the finished project (screenshots, links) in our own portfolio and marketing.

8. Maintenance plans

Optional monthly maintenance covers agreed updates, security and backups as described when you sign up. You can cancel a maintenance plan at any time; it will stop at the end of the current billing period.

9. Liability

We aim to deliver reliable, well-built websites, but we can't guarantee specific business outcomes (e.g. traffic, sales, rankings) resulting from the website. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any issue is limited to the amount you've paid us for the relevant service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our services evolve. The "Last updated" date above will always reflect the latest version. Changes won't apply retroactively to work already agreed under earlier terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, where builds by A.D is based.

This is a general template written to cover the essentials clearly, not a substitute for professional legal advice tailored to your specific business and jurisdiction. Worth having a solicitor review it, especially the refund and liability sections, as you take on more clients.
